I have come to appreciate this saying, not as a way to admit defeat or accept circumstances I am not happy with, but in a simple way to acknowledge where I am. Before we can change anything in our lives, we have to see it clearly and objectively, calming our emotional response. It is what it is reminds me that I can only control my response to others, not THEM. From this place of allowing without resistance, I create the space to respond with love.
“Today when faced with something I cannot control I will know It Is What It Is and then respond with love.”
