I grew up thinking that if someone was upset it had to be because I did something wrong. Even if I didn’t! I just felt inherently guilty, (this could be the result of my Catholic upbringing!) and acted as if everything was my fault. Well, it’s not. Learning to let others have a bad day or mood is incredibly freeing. They are responsible for their own feelings. And if I have done something, they will tell me and we will work it out.
Today I will let others have their experience and make amends only if I am truly at fault.”
