We create most of our own anxiety by pressuring ourselves to arbitrary deadlines and expectations. I call this “Hammer to the Head” syndrome. It is necessary to have goals and dreams for our lives and wonderful to hold yourself accountable to those goals. But in the moment that the goal begins to be the only focus of your life, then you are out of balance, that “Hammer to your Head” beating you up and robbing you of the joy of the present moment.
“Today I will “put the hammer down” and give myself permission to enjoy my day recognizing that I can be a better me when I am in balance.”
