First, to my family members who have served and are serving our country right now, thank you! And thank you to all of you are also serving not only in the military, but also in hospitals, schools, government, charities, and churches.
Being of service is one of the greatest opportunities to connect and grow as a human being. It can be as simple as opening a door, (or not letting one shut in the face of the person behind you!) or as grand an act as protecting and serving in a number of careers that asks that you put your life at risk for others.
I would like to remind everyone today that the men and women in the military do many other acts of service for you and I. Many times in moments in great natural disaster, along with police and firefighters, our National Guard and military are among the first responders.
“Today I will appreciate those who have given their lives to service in all of its forms and see how I can also be of service today in some small way.”
